Researchers at the Doheny Eye Institute of the University of Southern California wanted to report a study of vision health among Hispanic elderly – in a way that would emphasize broader themes.

In collaboration with designer, Linda Warren of Warren Group | Studio Deluxe, I worked to convey the theme of vision and Hispanic culture. The plan: tightly written text to convey study highlights, along with arresting pull quotes and excerpts from Latin American poetry, beautifully illustrated.

Our client helped to fine-tune the English translations. The result is a synthesis of text, design and illustration that evokes the client’s respect for cultural nuances and the study’s importance.
